What a wonderful beautiful morning sharing Christmas together. We are lucky daddio is able to be here with us and the railroad did shut down. Feeling so blessed and thankful for my beautiful daughter Abigail, it is such a treasure to watch her in the excitement and play with all her new toys. Thank you to our wonderful family for sending all the new treasures we have received. However I do wish we could all be together spending time on this blessed Christmas day!
This afternoon we had G. North and Grandpa Woelpern over for some chili and more present fun! They have become snowbirds so will be in the area for a while visiting. Watch for more adventures to come. Also be sure to check out their blog: http://upnorthgetaway.blogspot.com/
To all of our family and friends:
"May the spirit of Christmas bring you peace,
The gladness of Christmas give you hope,
The warmth of Christmas grant you love."

Ab's and I took a quick trip to Austin and celebrated Christmas with our girlfriends. As you will see in the pics, Ab's loved the big real Christmas tree and didn't get into too much. So I guess we could have put ours up. Just was afraid she would try to climb it or knock it down. Well maybe she would have, but next year, we will put up the big tree! This year we are enjoying our little tree. Ab's enjoyed some playtime with her girlfriends and us mama's enjoyed watching them and catching up. We all had fun exchanging gifts, check out the cute sassy Harper showing off her new outfit we got her. These girls are just all too cute!!

Yesterday we all headed to the Children's Museum for a day of fun inside, since it was so gloomy outside. Abigail had such a fun time observing, playing with the puzzles in the library, and the toddler play area. Can't wait to take her back again! There is lots to do for all ages and it was crowded for a Saturday, so I highly recommend it if you live in the area or are visiting.
Abigail had so much fun in fact that she passed out instantly in the car ride home. zzzzz's

Abigail turned 15 months old December 5th. She is growing so fast and is the cutest sweetest girl!! I am truly one lucky mama!! Today we went for her 15 month check up, which went very well, despite having to wait over an hour for a scheduled appointment. There really should be a law against having to wait that long. Good thing Ab's is easily entertained. She is a healthy, happy child! Right now she is weighing 22.3lbs and 28 3/4" tall.
It has been dreary weather around here for the last few days, so we have been busy doing a little baking, cooking, Christmas shopping, wrapping presents, making cards, etc... This is my favorite time of year, I love looking at Christmas decorations, love the spirit of the season, giving presents, surprises, decorating, baking, and all the goodies to eat!! Plus most important is spending time with family and friends. Though my family is in Minnesota, but close in my heart!
"You can kiss your family and friends good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world but a world lives in you." ~Frederick Buechner

Abigail and I attended Bellville's Annual Small Town Christmas lighted parade. It was the coldest day of the year, 36 degrees. http://www.bellville.com/stc/index.html
Funny how the day started out, I actually went for my morning run, didn't think the temperature was too bad. Then I get back from running and the it started to snow, light flurries off and all day. Though it all melted once it hit the ground, it was beautiful to see. Later morning we all started some of our Christmas shopping for our wonderful family and friends. Of course took in a yummy lunch at Little Whispers.
After supper Abigail and mommy got bundled up for the parade. (daddy missed the parade, railroad called him for work) Here are some pictures via the mobile phone, it is dark out, but hopefully you can make some of them out. Santa arrived in a mustang, there was the Grinch and his alligator mobile, Christmas village on top of the firetruck, plus our Bellville queen.
Hopefully it will warm up for Saturday, as the festivities continue with Market Days, carnival for the kids at the park, music, dancing, and Christmas pageants.

The Abster and I took off to Austin/Round Rock, Texas earlier this week for a little get away to visit friends. Abigail had a wonderful time playing with her friends Siler and Harper and also met some new friends. We enjoyed our time with the Wooster's, playing, laughing, and just hanging out. Stacy is also such a wonderful cook, so we also enjoyed some new yummy foods. We also visited Georgetown (very cute historic downtown) and Salado (a must visit for all), where our friend Tiffany and Harper are from. We ate at a very yummy tea restaurant, where they also cater to kiddos.
We spent half of Thanksgiving at the Wooster's watching the kiddos play and also getting ready for the big feast. Abigail took her first five steps all by herself. She is standing by herself really well, so I put her down, walk back a few steps and she started to come towards me. She was so excited and I was so proud! After playtime, we packed up and headed back home, but unfortunately Ryan had to work. Life is so unpredictable with the railroad, one never knows what and when you will be working and if they shut down for the holidays, this year they did not for Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and grateful for all the good things you have in your life. Actually everyday you should always look at all the wonderful things and be grateful! I know I am thankful for many things, my top three our faith, family, and friends!!! Plus our health, the beautiful sunshine, fresh air, food, home, freedom of our country, kindness of strangers, yoga, etc... Love, peace, and joy to all!!

Enjoying a little playtime fun with her puzzle.
So what did we do in MOPS today? First of all Abigail did great! Cried at first, but they moved her up to the next room, so she was in a classroom with girls around her age or older. She was having fun when I peeked in on her before coming into the room to get her. Yeah I am so proud of her for being such a big girl and having fun!
Well us moms had a great time, chatting, enjoying each others company, finished up on our Operation Christmas Child Shoebox's, and made a cute decoupage craft. One of the MOPS mom's (thanks Mitze) shared a lovely story, something to think about at Thanksgiving time and everyone can relate in some way or another. Here is the link to the story if you are interested. http://thewayofpeace.org/blessing_of_thorns.html

Abigail has just become a little cuddle bug lately! Every night before bedtime, she likes to crawl in my lap and do a little relaxing together, great way to end the day. She enjoys sucking her thumb and having her back rubbed.
I had to dress her Pretty in Pink as it was story-time at the Brenham Library today. She is really starting to get involved with the group of kids. She is pointing and clapping along with the fun songs and stories. Such a joy to watch her learn and grow!

So today I spent morning, noon and night steering my daughters Dora car while she walks and pushes it from behind. Good thing I do yoga so I can stretch out some of the soreness this is creating in my lower back. At the same time I am getting good exercise walking around and around too! But it is fun to watch her walk and walk and walk...I think we must have done a good 50 laps in our house today. You can tell she is just so proud of herself. I know it won't be long and she won't be needing that car for balance and she will be walking all by herself. Oh and if there is something on the way, she likes to stop pick it up and put it on the car seat and push it around. She loves to push her lovey around. So I am thinking she might like a stroller of her own or a shopping cart to push her toys around in. Hint, hint Santa Clause!!

Abigail and I attended a friend's birthday party today! Happy 4th Birthday Lauren!! Tracye you sure now how to throw one fab party! You ought to be a party planner. She themed it around the book The Very Hungry Little Caterpillar. We enjoyed some time sitting outdoors playing and meeting new people! Oh and check out the party favors! Thanks for inviting us!!

Wow I can't believe yesterday our little girl turned 14 months! She has grown so much and has such a cute personality. It is complete joy to play with her and help her learn. She said cat the other day and pointed to the cat. She understands the word ball, doesn't say it, but when I ask her where her ball is, she goes and gets it. Sure does make a mama proud! We have been working on walking and she is starting to get the hang of pushing her car around, so soon she will be running around. Ryan and I are both looking forward to seeing her run around wild and free! But for now she sure is one fast crawler and loves to try and get away when it is diaper change time.
We went to our MOPS group yesterday, this was the 3rd time going and this time she stayed in the nursery, while us moms met, and was happily playing upon my return. Again, I was so proud of her!

Abigail and I headed out to the Halloween Fest in her wheels, I know it should have been a broom. The Festival was put on by the Bellville Baptist Church, there was food, rides, and games. I did win a prize for my little ladybug! I could tell she really loved watching all the little kiddos dressed up, there were so many cuties running around. Then it was home to hand out some candy, daddio made it home just in time to help hand out the treats. We didn't have too many so now we have lots of candy to eat.

Ab's and I headed to the park on this lovely Halloween day for the Strut Mutt Festival. There was a parade, agility course, games, etc... Abigail loved watching the people and the dogs. I took a couple pics of a few of the dogs dressed up in their Halloween costumes.
Tonight we head to the Halloween Festival at the church down the street from our house! I'll be sure to take some more pictures.

Abigail and I have been on the move recently. We started going to MOPS and have met some wonderful gals. Wish I would have known about this group before, but at least now I am finally meeting some people around Bellville. I am glad I joined, I have already made some good friendships from it and stay at home mothers need that. Last week we went to Tracye's for a playdate and had a wonderful time! We attended our weekly storytime and then enjoyed a nice lunch with Heather and her son Alex at the wonderful Must Be Heaven!
Abigail and I have been out and about this weekend, yesterday we attend the local craft show. Today we went to OktoberFest. I dressed Abigail up in her ladybug outfit. It's a bit big, but she is still cute a bug and she loved it! She will get another use out of it this week before Halloween, as we have a Halloween park playdate to go to on Thursday.
Also had to upload the pic of her in her cute dress on the move. The girl is a crawling machine, all over the place. She enjoys standing around her music table and jamming to the tunes. Last night, she took a couple steps between the couch and coffee table, so won't be long and will be walking and running all over the place.
Daddio has been working in Corpus and recently took a quick trip to Minnesota. He is on a train so he might get to stop by tomorrow for a visit.

Well I guess it is my vacation too or is it? Wondering when does a Stay At Home Housewife/Mom really get vacation days? Hmmm....none the less, we have a had a great week, despite the rain we have received about every day of vacation, but isn't that how it usually goes. Our first day of vacation we went to the Bellville Parade, Fair, and Rodeo. Friday we did some shopping in the big city! Saturday we headed to Scarecrow Fest in Chappel Hill. I wasn't prepared for how big the Festival was going to be, hundreds of booths of gifts, crafts, food, etc...! The last few days we have just spent time around home, relaxing, getting out for some walks in the cooler weather we are finally having, cooking and baking. Starting to feel like Fall around here, which is my favorite time of the year. As you can see we had to break out the long sleeves.
It appears our little Abigail is ready to start using the computer. I caught her in the act!
