Family Rocking Chair

This rocking chair that Abigail is sitting on was my mom's as a child. It was bought for her in Germany and made it over to the USA. Then it was my rocking chair as a child and how I do remember rocking in this chair. Now it is Abigail's rocking chair. This chair has a story to share and we are looking forward to adding more stories to the chair.

Lavender Fest

Abigail and I drove to Chappell Hill to go Lavender Fest http://www.chappellhilllavender.com to see and smell some beautiful lavender. It was a nice drive over, cute little town with antique shops (wish we would had more time to stop and look around more), and rolling hills!

There were some cute booths set up with unique and homemade items for sale. You were also able to go cut your own fresh lavender to take home or made a lavender wand. Next year hopefully it will be a bit cooler out and Abigail will be old enough to enjoy it more. Maybe Dad will be not working and will be able to join us too.

Getting ready to golf

Daddy and Abigail were recently playing with her golf set, though not sure who was having more fun. Here are a few pictures of Abigail checking out her club and getting ready for practice.

New Adventures

We ventured over to Stephen Austin State Park last night. It is only about 20 minutes from our house. I was impressed, lots of trees, trails, camping, and yes even a golf course right next to the park. It certainly reminded me of the State Parks in Minnesota, so it felt a little like home. As we were entering it said watch for snakes, ok that caused a little bit of concern. But Ryan was insistent on taking one of the many trails they have there, so loaded up Ab's in the stroller and walked over to the beginning of one of the trails and big sign with six poisonous snakes listed. OK so not the best idea, we decided not to take the trail instead walked around on the paved roadway through the park, which was nice. Then we took a little drive, came across some campers, and saw some deer. Yes deer, I couldn't believe it, I haven't probably seen deer since I moved to Texas. So here is picture of mama and baby, oh so sweet.
