Shed progress

Ryan has been busy the last couple weeks building us a new shed so we can reorganize our garage and have a little extra room for storage. I am so impressed and amazed with my husband's ability to be able to build something from nothing, very talented! Ryan picked up the rafters yesterday and last night we visited our favorite store, Home Depot getting more supplies to finish the shed. As you can see all that is left is the roof.

After this is complete it will be onto the next project, always projects in home ownership, but that is part of what makes owing a home worthwhile.

Little Guru

Before having Abigail, I never thought about how much being a mom I would love and enjoy! I just knew I would love her! But it is an amazing the kind of love you feel, it is overwhelming and powerful! I know Ryan also feels the same about our amazing daughter, and I am sure most parents would say the same about their own children. You don't realize what you learn as a parent. Here I was thinking I am going to teach her so much, but in reality she is teaching me or should I say I am relearning what I once was as a child. Children live there lives fully in the present moment, not thinking about yesterday or the future. They have open minds, curious, spontaneous, excited about the simplest things, laugh at the silliest things, find beauty in all. I also love their little imaginations, which I have been observing and participating in at the church nursery I work at. In teaching yoga and my daily practice of yoga is also about staying in the moment, opening your heart, etc.... Children remind of us where we came from and how life should be. Here are some quotes I found recently and must share:

"When we approach children with the awareness that they are our teachers, we become more present ourselves." ~from DailyOm

"Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again ...And what do we teach our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of France. When will we also teach them what they are?
We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move.
You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel. And when you grow up, can you then harm another who is, like you, a marvel?
You must work, we must all work, to make the world worthy of its children." ~Pablo Casals

Busy fun!

Just a quick little update for our family and friends.

Lots of good things going on since Easter keeping me busy, busy!!

First I am excited about my mom's new web-site for her store that I am creating! Watch for it to be out soon! Stephen Ministry training has started. I am attending a weekly group training session with a bunch of lovely ladies. We are learning how to provide one-to-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge. In addition my yoga teaching schedule has increased, which is a wonderful opportunity to have! I am still working at the church nursery on Thursdays, Abigail and I enjoying working on Thursdays. Abigail gets playtime and I enjoy helping out the moms so they can attend bible study.

In addition Abigail keeps us very busy, lots of activity, playing, and learning going on during the day in our household. Plus we spend time getting out to parks, library, and stores, as she loves to see new things and explore. She loves to do things herself and learns things quickly!

Today we were able to visit and spend time with my dad, as he had a load in Houston. We spent some fun time at the park as you will see in the pictures posted! Grandpa will be leaving after supper, it sure was a nice visit just wish it could be longer.

Happy Easter!!

Easter day (and everyday) is a day to look at all your blessings, be grateful, and to rejoice! "The story of Easter is the story of God's wonderful window of divine surprise."(Carol Knudsen) Thank you God for all that you provide for me and my family. For protecting us, loving us, and all the wonderful opportunities!!!

Abigail and I took a nice walk before church. Before our walk Abigail grabbed up some yummy O's for the ride in her hands. Us girls got dressed up for church, Ab's went to play in the nursery, while I attend service. She loves going to church and being in the nursery with the other children, they play and sing songs. Unfortunately Ryan worked most of Easter day, but was able to make it home before Abigail's bed time so she could open her gifts/baskets. She sure is a blessed and loved little girl! Sometimes we don't always get to celebrate the holidays on the actual date, but we always make them special. So the Easter celebrating continues to today at our house with our Easter meal. I made our Easter meal, egg bake, fruit, and scones.

Easter Egg Celebration at Bellville United Methodist Church

Today was Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt at Bellville United Methodist Church! What a fun wonderful celebration it was, lunch, games, and egg hunt! Oh and next year will be much more fun as Abigail will be able to jump in the bouncer and have her face painted! Unfortunately Daddy had to work, but Mommy and Abigail had fun meeting new people, winning, and finding eggs! Abigail really had fun and did so well on the egg hunt! By the end we were both wore out. We got home and Abigail laid down with Junior for a moment to relax, still holding onto the bunnies she won! Tomorrow the Easter Bunny will come and Abigail will open her Easter gifts from her grandparents!
