So we are trying out gardening. It's been something we have been wanting to do for years, but now we finally have a nice yard for one. In Texas it was too hot to garden, who would enjoy being out in 100+ degree heat!!? So, last week we had a guy come till up a spot for our garden. Ryan planted last week with Abigail's help and I have been trying to remember to water it. I have been doing a good job at watering, however turned it on yesterday morning, forgot about it till about 6 hours later, so I am guessing won't need to worry about watering for a couple days. Opps! Just hope I didn't flood it out too bad and that our garden will grow. It is a fun process, can't wait to eat the goodies. I love fresh garden veggies!!

Our beautiful garden!!

Tigger relaxing and watching us work in the garden!!

Aidan is almost walking on his own, he is cruising around the furniture, using his truck to walk with, I am guessing it will be not long and he will be walking and running everywhere. Watch out world soon there will be another toddler on foot!

What started out as a trip to Walmart to pick up three items to make pizza muffins, ended up with a cart full. All because as we were getting ready to go to the checkout line, Ryan passed a display of Hersey bars which led to the idea of making smores, which then meant we needed to build a fire (no biggie had brush for that), but meant we need some chairs to sit on and something to cook our marshmallows with. So good job Walmart in your display because we ended up buying three times as much as what we had planned, all in the name of chocolate! But definitely a great family time and Abigail said delicious!!

Birthday Party Fun!!

Aidan had his first birthday party a week after his birthday, it was camouflaged theme. I had planned it for when the hubby would be home on a day off, but that didn't happen and he missed it, the railroad had him, but we captured it on video for him. We had a great little party for Aidan with the help of Ryan's mom and step dad! Though I really think Abigail had the most fun! As the cars started to arrive she started to direct traffic for parking in our driveway, then showed our guests the house, specifically her room and she made sure her friends that came were having fun playing. A good time was had by all!! Of course little man, got to enjoy his first cake!! Thank you Laura Cross for making a yummy cool looking cake!! Aidan wasn't like his sister on her first birthday where she just dug in, nope he took his sweet time enjoying it!!

Easter Celebrating!!

Saturday we went with our friends to their church for a Easter Party and egg hunt. Abigail had so much fun, she won a purple bear! We all enjoyed yummy pizza and time with friends. Then the egg hunt started. Abigal filled her basket and 90% of it was purple eggs, love how my girl loves purple!! Aidan even got in on the fun!!

Abigail and her friend Alissa

Look mom what I got!

Abigail and Aidan, look at all those purple eggs in her basket!

Easter day was just me and the kiddos, Ryan was working. However we had a great day! The Easter bunny brought baskets to celebrate Jesus coming back from the dead! What a day to celebrate!

The kiddos got their baskets, then shortly after we were off to church. What a service, it was a true blessing. It started out with baptisms, then a beautiful time in music celebrating our Lord, and ended with the Lord's supper!

Abigail's t-shirt says it all!!

Today was Aidan's one year appointment, me and kiddos all survived. Not sure what is worse, when the little one's get shots or mommy has to watch? But little man was a champ, they took his blood and he didn't even flinch, then came the shots, first shot OK, 2nd shot not so good. However it was over in a matter of seconds, thankfully! Little man is healthy and growing. He is staying in the 20 percentile for height and weight. Today he came in at 20.10 pounds and 28 1/2 inches.
This week has been bitter sweet for me. We are done with bottles and infant car seat. Also went through his and his sister's closet again (always seems like that is an every couple month chore, as they grow so fast) as we are getting ready for a garage sale soon, so out went all those little baby clothes. Hard to believe I have a 3 and 1 year old! I feel like the luckiest mama in the world. So blessed with the family I have!

Here is Aidan home and all smiles after his doctor visit.

Tater Day Parade

This morning we met up with some friends to see the parade. It was a great parade, long, but the kiddos loved it. Today was one of the hottest days too, above normal for here, it reminded me of Texas. Thankful we will be back to normal temps end of the week, 70s ahhhh!!!
Abigail loved seeing all the old cars and watching the horses, she also thought the clowns were funny! Here are a couple snapshots and Aidan got to sit in the shade in comfort.

Aidan enjoyed his first swing at the park. They both were laughing and kicking their feet!

Tater Days

This weekend is Tater Days in Benton, it is a fair type of event. Many different kinds of vendors set up booths, fair food (you know that deep fried give you a heart-attack food, but taste sooooo good), and rides. What is unique about it is all the rebel flags you see out, can't say I have ever witnessed that anywhere. It was entertaining, I could sit and watch people all day if I had the time. That is what Aidan did while he got to ride around in his stroller. Thoughts running through my head, oh my where is your mom, I would never let my child dress that way, wow people respect please. Anyhow it was really a lot of fun, we enjoyed walking around looking, eating the food, Abigail played a game and she got to drive daddy around in a purple car! I should have taken some pics of the people and flags I saw but I didn't want to offend anyone. Monday we will try and go to the Tater Days parade and maybe I will get some more pics to share.
