Hat on, Aidan is ready to go!! He loves going out and about exploring. He is great about getting his shoes and sitting down to put them on.
Ryan started mountain biking again, which is great for all of us, as he has been exploring trails in LBL (Land Between the Lakes, Kentucky Lakes that is). While doing that he has come across a lot of places for us to explore, hike, picnic, camp out, fish, see beautiful sunsets, etc...I can't wait to do all these!
He took us to an area that you can drive through to see bison and elk, while we didn't get close up of the bison, we did of the elk, so I told Abigail those look like Santa's reindeer.
Last night we took the scenic drive (and yes the road is called scenic drive) and saw the sunset, along with a few deer and one was a good sized buck, so I am sure there will be some happy hunters, I say run deer, run!! But then at the same time I think there may be an over abundance of deer in our area, with seeing over a dozen along side the road as roadkill on a drive to Paduach last week and that is only 30 mile trip. So yeah, it be wise to watch the roads carefully so you don't hit any.
Me and the kiddos had a very productive day, we made some pumpkin cookies, I finished making 19 ornaments for our Jesse Tree ornament exchange for MOPS, which I am so excited to participate in and can't wait to start our Jesse Tree, this will be a new tradition for us! For 27 days we will read a devotion & passage from Bible and place the ornament that symbolizes that days reading. This is a short definition from Beliefnet.com: The Jesse tree represents Jesus' family tree. The name is taken from Isaiah 11:1, in which Jesus is referred to as a shoot coming up from the stump of Jesse, the father of David. The ornaments on the Jesse tree tell of Jesus' ancestors, and of the events leading to Jesus' birth.
I also finished our Thanksgiving tree using the print outs from One Thousand Gifts http://www.aholyexperience.com/2012/11/a-christian-family-thanksgiving-activity-the-thanks-giving-tree-free-printable/ , I glued them to scrapbook paper and then punched holes in them and tied twine on them. Abigail helped hang them, while we read each one. I hope to finish our tree with some acorns we collected while we lived in Texas, and these are not your regular acorns, these are Texas sized. But first I want to paint them and add some ribbon to them. Tomorrow we start our 12 day countdown to Thanksgiving, each day we open a drawer which in the end of the 12 days will be a picture, there is a verse each day to read, along with a little trinket for Abigail & Aidan each day. This will be fun way to count down to Thanksgiving!
I really feel it is important to remember the reason for this holiday season of Thanksgiving and Christmas, and do it throughout the year. Everyday thank God for your blessings, either by writing them down or talking to Him in prayer. He was, He is, and will always be God of miracles and blessings!
Psalm 100 For giving grateful praise.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Feeling led to share, as I become more bold in my faith.These last few years my faith has grown, since I have been having a deeper relationship with God. I have always believed since I was little, however really didn't understand it all till later, there have been times in my life where I wasn't always walking closely with the Lord and during those times I didn't make good decisions or was living in joy. I am still not perfect, or will ever be, but I will keep trying and believing! The last couple years I have been involved in mom Bible study's, as this is something I feel God has gifted me with from my experiences. It is not always easy facilitating, but I trust God that He knows what He is leading me to do.
During this past year, I have come across people that are lost, either they don't believe or they don't have a relationship with our Lord. For me it is hard to understand how a person can't believe in God. I believe that there is a God and I look forward to meeting Him someday and thanking Him for His grace and the gift of Jesus! I can't wait to walk those streets of gold along side Jesus and see those that have passed on that I know are with the Lord now. It saddens me for those that don't believe, because they will be lost forever, but I hope and pray that they come to believe, it is never too late to start! Pray/talk to God, pick up and start reading the Bible, attend a Bible class with other believers, find a church to worship with other believers, read or listen to devotions by Christian teachers, or talk with a pastor, there are many ways to start your journey and relationship with God. Nobody's walk is the same. Jesus plus nothing, is all it is!
