Resolutions?? Anyone??

I don't like calling them resolutions, but rather goals and life changes!
2012 brought a lot of excitment, changes, and challenges!
We are settling into our new house and putting roots down, this is new for us, after moving so much!
This last year, I have become more bold in my faith, sharing and helping others. What I learned most was to rely on God in all things, to let worry go and give it to Him, to not stress and trust God! Now have I mastered these NO, but definitely is something I have been praying about and learning more. I still feel I have long path ahead of me, but I am going to keep on the path! It is all about the journey along the way!

This year, 2013 I want to continue to focus on relying on God for all things, but also taking time to listen to Him and let Him lead me and let the things I do be things that give Him glory!

Lately I have been challenged by my almost two year old son! He is a boy, all boy, he doesn't like no, and he likes to do things his way. He is an amazing cute, loving son, who is definitely adventurous! Very opposite of me! This boy is going to teach me some amazing things! So I have been asking for God to help me see him through His eyes and to give me the strength and patience I need to parent him.

My daughter is growing up way too fast and I know it is going to be hard to send her off to kindergarten this fall, so again I am learning to trust God in this situation. Help me to treasure the little moments, simple things!

This year I will be studying Proverbs 31! I am encouraged by christian blogs from wives that have been studying and sharing what they learn from Proverbs 31. I believe God will use this to help me be better wife and mom! I am going to keep remembering from Lysa TerKeurst~Unglued, "Imperfect progress"!!

I have a need to want to help people, but I must remember my first ministry is to my family in my home. However, I am praying about another mom Bible study and possibly get back into teaching yoga. Will see what God has in store!

Organize, I use to be organized, but things have slipped, I desire to be more organized and make things more simple! Time to use some of those tips/advice I have been reading on blogs.

This last year I started meal planning, which has been very helpful. I am going to continue this in addition add in healthier eating choices for my family and I, while saving us money.

More Bible time, family fun, and living life to the fullest! Continue blogging to share with our family and friends, children are growing fast and life is an adventure!

This is my prayer for this year:
Thank You for my husband and children, I love my family!
Thank You for family and friends! They are precious gifts and blessings that I am grateful for. Help me to keep my focus on You, I need You more than anything! Give me a thankful, joyful, peaceful heart set on things above not on things of earth. Make me fearless! Use my life for Your glory, use me to bless those around me. Fill me completely with Your power and the fruit of the spirit. I desire to know You more and more and find my greatest joy in You. To live Eucharist. Jesus I trust and Adore You!  Use me to show Your love and power through me into my husband and children and everyone around me. Use me to be a light for you, God!
In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

Happy Anniversary, Eights years and counting...

Today my hubby and I celebrate our eight year wedding anniversary! We have a wonderful marriage and I am a blessed girl to be married to him! I love him to the moon and back and then some!!
Has our marriage always been wonderful, no and will it ever be perfect, no because we are imperfect people! We have learned through hard times and that has made our marriage wonderful!! I am so glad to be experiencing life with him and we have been through a lot together in a short time and life just keeps getting better and better!! He has seen me at my best and my worst, and he still loves me!! We laugh together, encourage one another, argue and learn together, and most important we LOVE each other and are blessed parents to two of the most beautiful children!!
I look forward to growing old together!!
Love my hubby, love my children, love my life!! Thank you God!!

Happy Birthday to My Dad!!

Today my dad turned 60 and we got to celebrate with him. Though they leave tonight and head back to Minnesota, always sad when our family leaves. Though it has been a blessed time having them here. We celebrated Christmas together, ate some yummy meals together, Ryan was off from work on his off days, we made some fun memories (right mom ;) ) and celebrated my dad's Birthday!!
Happy 60th Birthday Dad also Grandpa!!

 Quick smile!
Little man saw the cake and wanted it, so yes he got mad when we told him we had to wait.
Yep that is real life folks!!

But once he got some cake, he was happy, happy, finger licking good!!

Next visit is my brother and his fiance in a week!!

We got to play in snow, haven't seen snow like this since moving from Minnesota eight years ago! This is the first time our kids have seen and played in, so they had a really fun time!! Me it was great to see, but I could do without it, I enjoyed our Texas winters we had and had enough snow while growing up and living in Minnesota for 30  years!

It started snowing late Christmas night, we received about 3-4 inches! My parents got to enjoy it too, even though they live in Minnesota and see it every year!

No More Perfect Moms Update

I know some of you are excited to hear more about this book!! Here is a link to go take a peak and sign up to take a 31 Day Challenge, which starts January 1.

I have read a couple more chapters into the book I am helping to launch. Every mom should read this book, it will make you laugh, think, and say so I am not the only one! She uses stories from her life and from others that have gone through raising children. Plus there is what she calls antidotes, to help change the problem/issue and Bible scripture to teach and encourage with.

In Chapter 3 she writes a lot about expectations, hmmm I can have those sometimes. Has the mommy monster ever visited you? How to react with our imperfect children, because really who has perfect children, right!? How to stay away from comparing and I love how the chapter ends with it's all about love. Because isn't that what is all about anyhow, LOVE! I like how she breaks down and uses 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Book Launch

No I didn't write a book, but I have been asked to read a book and help launch it!! I am one of those blessed people that have had the excitement of winning a couple free books from other blogs that I follow. Reason why my hubby thinks I should play the lottery, maybe I should, but I think these are books God puts on my lap because I need them. These books have been from mom Christian blogs/web-sites!
Anyhow, couple days ago I received an email that I was chosen to apart of the launch team with a few other moms!! As I showed interest and applied to be apart of the launch team in a book that will be coming out soon, that I feel a lot of us mom's will be able to relate too! I can't wait to revel this book and tell you more about it!! So for now stay tuned and remember, there are NO PERFECT MOM's! (When the book is launched there will be freebies and opportunities to win free book, so don't go out buying it yet.) But if you happen to be a perfect mom, I would love to hear from you and know how you do it!?

It is funny how perfect this book has fell into my life, since yesterday was not a great day for me. Really I have nothing I can complain about, I am truly blessed, but we all struggle with bad days, right!?
Having been struggling with not having a voice, which has made me feel not so great and kind of crabby. I let that be apart of determining how my day was going to be, though it didn't help that I spilled my morning coffee yesterday all over my keyboard and ruined it, new puppy potty's in the house, and then I took it out on my poor hubby because he has been working a lot, which puts me in charge of the whole household, which usually I am great at but when things don't go how I expect them to, it can take a toll on me sometimes, and that is a big mistake! Then I feel like a failure and start beating myself up. I have to remember to let those expectations go, there is no perfect, don't let negative thoughts in my head, because that is what the devil wants. I need to put my God filter on, His perspective, and most important find that time to set my heart right with God, because He is the one will fill me up with what I need and lead me in my day, if I let Him!
Here are a couple things from the book so far that I love:
"True confidence is really "God-confidence." It's not so much about believing in ourselves as it is about believing in what God can do through us. It's changing the message inside our heads from "I can't, to GOD can!" The Bible confirms this in Jeremiah 17:7 "But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord there hope and confidence.""
"In the Bible, God says, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go"~Joshua 1:9. Our courage comes from knowing we are not alone. God is with us. He is our strength, He will help us take off fear and put on courage."

One last thought for everyone today from me:
How ironic that today is the end of the Mayan calendar, but yet today is also Winter Solstice! I was never worried and I hope many of you were not either. This should be taken as a sign, only trust in God and what His Word says in the Bible! Matthew 24:36
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
So today celebrate and everyday, praise God!
