Friday Encouragement!!

Ahhh it is Friday and we have no school for over a week because of fall break and holiday. It will be nice not having to rush and get the kids to school, we can enjoy some relaxed mornings and adventures!

We are on week three of the Gideon study and I tell ya friends this study has been a bit eye opening for me. I really have not dug deep into the lessons of what can be learned from Gideon. Actually God has been teaching me a lot through the Old Testament lately! Here are a few things I will share and this from Judges 6 & 7. God kept reducing Gideon's army down till it got to 300 and the enemy's army was over 120,000! Can you imagine being Gideon and wondering what he was thinking, I know I probably be thinking this is impossible. But we need to remember with the Lord nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37), everything is possible with God! Numbers don't matter, it is God's power that does! He is all powerful!! You don't need as much as you think you need, God has your back! I am learning to be confident in the weaknesses that God has given me, because it is at those time God has grown me, because it is at those times I learn to trust and lean on Him fully and that is what we are suppose to be doing all the time! God perfects us in our weaknesses if we allow Him to. Those weakness you have will allow you to see God. If you struggle with weakness, confidence and/or not trusting the Lord this study is for you!
2 Corinthians 12:9 (But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.) Thanking God for the weaknesses He gave me, because those are the times I have learned to lean on Him, trust Him, grow in FAITH!

Here are a few blogs this week I have read:
I love my children and always thank God for giving them to me, but you know there are times when they challenge me and I have to remember they are a blessing! From Sally Clarkson: "Your children are a blessing. They are not easy; mothering is not for sissies; loving well is hard work. In those truths lie the heart of what God wants to teach us: “Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” You don’t have to look any farther than down your own hallways to find a great place to practice imitating Jesus. And that is a blessing, indeed. - See more at: http://www.itakejoy.com/children-are-a-blessing-right-launch-week-giveaway-2/

The importance of community and having someone to share and pray with. Ecclesiastes 4, “Two are better than one … if either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” When we share our troubles with another godly friend, she can often help us to see what we cannot. Her different perspective opens a new way of thinking that can lead to hope and faith and away from despair. When you add the power and presence of the Holy Spirit to that friendship, Ecclesiastes 4:12 tells us our relationships become “… a cord of three strands… not quickly broken.” Our pain, when shared, can be transformed to peace. Strength can take the place of sorrow. http://proverbs31.org/devotions/devo/going-solo/

Hey amazing mama. You. The messy, beautiful, grateful mama.
“The only Person whose opinion counts looks at me and He finds me more valuable than all the jewels in the earth.” {Tim Keller}
Live out of that. Walk in that. The only One who matters sees you and says, “Hey Amazing Mama, you are doing a great job.” http://gracefullmama.com/amazing-mama/

Love the story of Joseph and how it teaches about patience and overcoming evil with good. You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Genesis 50:20  http://maxlucado.com/audio/daily-audio/a-higher-purpose/

Came across this quote: “This is one sneaky way that satan will mess with your brain–convincing you that it doesn’t matter unless you are going big or doing it perfect! Whether it’s your health, your marriage, your ministry, or finances, this is great inspiration! Small things add up. Be obedient with the time and resources you have for today!”~Gary Thomas Be thankful in the little things because they matter to God! We may not be doing missions on the battlefield but our battlefields start in our homes with our families and yes those add up!! The greatest impact is done in your everyday ordinary tasks. The Message version of Romans 12: 1-2 is perfect scripture to place in your heart. "So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you."
