2014!!!

Perfect quote for the New Year! I have read many of Elisabeth Elliot's quotes and I love her words, it is time to get a book or two of her's to read. Does anyone have a favorite book of her's you would recommend?

Here are a few blog postings I read recently and they may be helpful in preparing for the New Year!

“Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.” Romans 12:1a (The Message) http://proverbs31.org/devotions/devo/my-new-years-offering/

Love this~A Grace Plan: A Doable Life-Change Plan for a New Year, A New You: With FREE Printable http://www.aholyexperience.com/2013/12/a-grace-plan-a-doable-life-change-plan-for-a-new-year-a-new-you-with-printable/  If you haven't read her book
One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully I highly recommend it, I read it a couple years ago and still reference back to it.

Sally Clarkson one of my favorite authors always has a way to speak to me. Yes clutter can drive me crazy..."But, I have also come to realize that my soul, heart and brain can be the same way—cluttered with worries, responsibilities, duties, children’s future, finances, time constraints, expectations, disappointments, critical attitudes, resentment." - See more at: http://www.itakejoy.com/de-cluttering-my-soul-a-new-years-tradition-2014/

List worth checking and doing, healthy habits for New Year http://searching4hiddentreasures.blogspot.com/2013/12/15-healthy-habbits-for-new-year.html

I love quiet, don't sometimes get enough of it, with two little kids who love playing and exploring all day. But when I do this is great 5 steps  http://www.karenehman.com/2013/12/five-steps-to-quiet/

This had me laughing, well somewhat, thankfully I am not like the author, so I don't need to divorce, but I see it becoming more and more of a problem. Went to mall the other day, a rarity, because I hate shopping and malls, it was interesting watching people interact with their phones. I know I said I just hate shopping and malls, I maybe not normal and I am OK with that! http://jarridwilson.com/why-im-getting-a-divorce-in-2014/

Here is a challenge, though I am not at the moment doing it, but will be checking it out and maybe in the future. http://www.livingwellspendingless.com/31-days/livingwellspendingzero/
One of the books on my stack to read this year is 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess and the spending zero blog series maybe helpful. What books are you reading this year? I have a stack on my shelf and several on my kindle, which I will share with you all in another post.

Watch out kids because this could happen, I have thought it about it a couple times. http://www.livingwellspendingless.com/2012/09/14/why-i-took-all-my-kids-toys-away-why-they-wont-get-them-back/

  1. I'm not a fan of malls either...but I do agree about cutting back on social media.
