Our Fridays and Saturdays happen to fall on Tuesdays!

Our days of the week are not the same as the majority, but we sure do make the most of them! My hubby's typical days off are Monday/Tuesdays so those are our family days. The plus to these days off is we go places and the places won't be busy or often time have places all to ourselves. This week we went to Clarksville to go to Target, yes I love some Target and that is the closest store for us. What we didn't realize was there is a mall and all these choices to eat at! There was barely anyone there on the day we went. Then we chose to go for a little drive touring a little more of the Tennessee area and went to Paris and decided to go bowling, again it was like having the place to ourselves. We treasure our family days we have! What do you enjoy doing on family days?

Lately I have been thanking God for my gifts and the calling He has placed on my life. I am thankful for my calling of being a mom and how God uses my children and marriage to grow me.

Here are some Bible verses and quotes to help in your parenting:

Psalms 127:3-5 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
Deuteronomy 6:6-9 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Proverbs 1:8-9 Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

1 Timothy 3:4-5 He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?)

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than, that one lay down his life for his friends.
Sally Clarkson says in the book Desperate "Love is the fuel that energizes every type of growth. If you love well, you will influence your children, and your love will cover over many inadequacies."

Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. Another quote by Sally Clarkson "I am so very glad that Jesus did not create one box that He wanted all mothers to be stuffed into. Each family has its own puzzle and there is abudant grace and joy in figuring it out through the eample of our loving Savior."
"The process of cultivating our children into excellent, healthy and strong adults requires someone willing to put in hours, days, weeks, months and years of diligence and endurance." Which made me think of the scripture Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might."

Yes I did sign up for this, I am one blessed mama and wouldn't want it any other way, but that doesn't mean there are not days I dream of a vacation...  http://mrsgoresdiary.com/2014/01/09/i-signed-up-for-this/

I am 100% called to be a mom, and so I want to walk fully and faithfully into my calling. I am blessed to be apart of her focus group for her upcoming book. Here is one quote from the book Desperate that she said that resonates with me "Don't neglect to see the beauty of the life around you while being overwhelmed by the duties of life" She is saying we are to rejoice and be thankful in all things, but I do fail at that sometimes because I get overwhelmed or burned out doing those mundane things. However, God wants us to enjoy life and we are to rejoice and be thankful. Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the Lord had made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
