Friday and It's Fall!!!

This mama is still a bit tired, though not as overwhelmed as last week! I am thankful for sweet friends, who check in on you, pray for you, there to help when in need, and just because their awesome friends!!  It is officially fall, my favorite season!! Bring on hot chocolate, pumpkin everything, candy corn, fall festivities, and sweatshirts!! Now if I could just get some good sleep, but there are too many variables sometimes for that to happen. Little kids, dog who gets sick, a good book, Bible study, etc..those are just a few things that sometimes stop me from getting a good nights sleep. Really I rather skip sleep and read anyhow! My thinking is in heaven God has golden beds waiting for us mama's to rest when that time comes. But when I am ready to be lulled to sleep my diffuser and lavender oil is a big help!

Our week started out a bit hectic, Aidan had got some type of bug bite on Sunday afternoon, that didn't look good. It looked better Monday morning but then it got worse, so off to the doc we went. Doc thinks a blister beetle or some type of spider, it is finally starting to look better! After our appointment we headed to literature club. It was our first time going. Abigail loved it and little man participated too. She met some new friends and they had fun learning about apples through books, trying different apples, craft, and fall bingo! This week we worked more on reading and math. We learned more about the middle ages and explored resources that God has provided for us here on earth and how electricity is made.We discussed story telling through art. She even skyped daddy to show her art and tell the story about it. She still says science and math are her favorite subjects. For phy ed she practices golf and continues horse riding lessons. Ms. Keeley says her balance on a horse is great! She impresses me with her riding skills!! She worked hard riding yesterday and was tired out from it. This week Aidan played Tball Tuesday night, and those boys were a little wild out there, but they had fun and he loves it! Must be the fall weather!! :)

Today this mama is going to enjoy a couple hours mama time, getting my hair done! Tomorrow we will head out to Fall On The Farm event. Here are a few snapshots from this week:

Inspirational reads and a song I have been listening to while I work out:

Tell me what kind of God would choose to save
The bruised, the broken, the sinners, the runaways
How do you ever try to comprehend this love that knows no limit
I could try but I could not explain His kind of love (His kind of love)
Is reckless for us
His kind of love is will never give up
'Til the whole world knows how far He went to show
His kind of love
His kind of love

It’s back! The “Living and Active” 5 week challenge is here

It is a God-given drive to be the best mom you can be, but our calling becomes an idol if our joy depends on our performance.
There are a host of factors out there waiting to help you determine if you're a good mom. We have to be guarded. What is meant to help can actually be destructive to our joy. Three major fads in the mommy realm are ready to give you a grade.

“This earthly life is a battle,’ said Ma. ‘If it isn’t one thing to contend with, it’s another. It always has been so, and it always will be. The sooner you make up your mind to that, the better off you are, and more thankful for your pleasures.” –Laura Ingalls Wilder, Little Town on the Prairie

In the beginning, God created and here in the middle He hasn’t stopped. He keeps taking this same soul earth, turning it over and over again, making something from what feels like nothing.

We all need grace. We all need forgiveness. We all need a second chance (and a third, a fourth, and more). That’s why we have Jesus.

Ugly grace is still grace. And it’s still beautiful

I really don't have much to share this week, not because nothing has happened, actually a lot has. This week has been a whirlwind of sorts! So many blessings, but I am exhausted!! My brain needs rest! This week we had our first meeting for the new season of MOM Group, I am just so amazed to see how many mama's there were and am excited to see what God will be doing through the ministry this year. We had T-Ball, horse riding, and of course school. Tonight we are super excited for movie night as we will be watching The Boxcar Children, it is a book we read and discussed during our language arts class a couple weeks ago. This week in addition to the usual math, spelling, and reading we have been talking about the medieval times, very interesting! I love hearing what Abigail thinks about the study. For science we have been enjoying learning about oceans, Arctic, and Antarctica. Abigail wants to go visit, not sure she understands just how cold it would be, I can't imagine, but I did not like Minnesota winters when I lived there, so that won't be happening!

Few fun snapshots of the week:
Silly giraffe boy, learning about God created animals!

This is what Aidan does while sister does horse riding lessons.

Learning to guide the horse!

Working hard at school!

                                                    T-Ball Game!

Haven't read much for blog posts this week, as I am reading three books right now and going through and reading a chapter a day in the Bible with a study group. If there is anything worth reading, anything that I would recommend without hesitation it would be the Bible. The only living Word that speaks and gives truth! I am so thankful my grandmother gave me my own Bible 12 years ago. The best gift anyone can give a person, as it is life changing. I wonder if she knew that at the time :) I miss her so much!

If you’ve ever doubted God’s affection for you, consider that in all of His creation, it was you He made in His own image.

It’s time to get a little serious. We will be afflicted. We will be persecuted. We will face troubles. This side of Jesus coming back, it will happen. But it isn’t hopeless. With God’s word filling us, His Spirit empowering us, and other believers standing courageously with us, we can overcome. Jesus has overcome. Our feet can stand immovable.

So look forward to Friday most weeks, though sometimes it hard to keep track of the days of the week. My sons preschool schedule helps and doing the daily calender with my daughter for school also helps, so I know what day of the week it is. With my husbands job we just don't have normal week like most, with his on-call 24/7 job, coming and going it can be hard sometimes. But that is ok, everyday is a gift, we should treat it as so!! God reminds of us of those gifts in His Word and creation all around us. All you have to do is look at the face of a loved one, friends, the items you have been blessed to have, etc... and this week on a family hike I was also reminded of God's gifts in nature.

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

Been a great week at Raising Arrows school! This week Abigail finished up her 6th week of school!! We had some fun learning about sea creatures in our oceans. Abigail started on spelling words and she loves it! We went hiking this week and turned it into a little nature and art lesson. She attended a 4H homeschool group, where she participated in voting and made a collage. She enjoyed some play times with friends this week on a couple visits to friends houses and at the tball field where she ran into one of her friends she went to preschool with. This week the kids at church started practicing for the Christmas program. This week during horse lessons Abigail got to go fast as she says (it was a trot), she really loved it! Aidan enjoys hanging out and participating with us sometimes during school. He had school pictures this week, so look forward to seeing those come back (though mommy failed at getting his hair done), and he is learning his letters! Aidan also started a new season of tball! The kids are looking forward to AWANA starting back on Sunday!
Some days this is how we dress for school!

Little man playing some ball!!

This week I started reading a couple books, which I would recommend:
The Best YES by Lysa Terkeurst
Seasons of a Woman's Life by Lois Evans
I have the pleasure of being apart of a book launch for a friend about her journey through infertility and adoption. Can't wait to share more soon, it is a great book, full of inspiration, and seeing how God is in all the details of our lives!

Here are some encouraging reads this week:

It is possible to walk through the door of fear and arrive on the other side to find joy there waiting

It’s almost impossible to see yourself as the same person before God saved you.  You are a new creation in Christ.

I am right where God wants me to be. It’s not an accident that I am located where I am.

Our God is creative! Have you noticed that? I sure have! Genesis to Revelation is lined with just how creative He is. He spoke the very world into existence and breathed His breath into the lungs of man. He created the highest mountains, the lowest valleys and the deepest seas. And He paints the most exquisite of sunrises and sunsets every day across the world.

Remember this truth when life is hard, when you doubt, when your tired…this….

Yes emotions, they can get in the way of being a blessing or causing hurt…Emotions are not a bad thing in and of themselves. God made us to have feelings. But we can’t be ruled by them or led by them.

We are souls undone and rebuilt by the Spirit of God. As God surveys this earth, He sees light and darkness. And He sees His light, His Spirit wandering through neighborhoods, offices, schools, Wal-marts, Chick-fil-a playgrounds, and eating breadsticks at Olive Gardens.
We possess God and are filled with Him for the very same purposes that Peter, John, Paul, Mary and Luke in the early church were filled with Him. We are filled with God to pour Him into the darkness. Pour Him into the broken souls who are starving for something.
We are: built by God
rescued by God
filled with God
pleasing to God.
May we never get over it. This weight of glory we carry is the promise of more, the promise of kingdoms coming that our imaginations can’t contain.
So don’t waste your days wondering if there is more.
There is more.
