Weekly dose of encouragement...

Been a wonderful week of time with family and celebrating birthdays! But time to start getting back to a somewhat normal schedule, though normal can be overrated!

Had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday with my hubby in Nashville for 3 days without our kiddos, but they had just as great of a time spending it with their grandparents!!

Ryan told me 6 months ago he wanted to surprise me for my birthday by taking me to Nashville for a hockey game, he knows the way to my heart. However, me being the planner of the family, he told me what he wanted to do for my birthday so I could plan it. I love his heart and so thankful he came up with the idea!! So thank you again, it is the best birthday present!!

As I think back on my 40 years, yes I am 40 and love it!! I am so grateful for all the wonderful little and big things (my husband, children, family and friends that God has given me), and even the hard times, because it has grown made me the person that I am today! It is my journey and I would not change a thing! Thank you God for blessing with me with more then I deserve and for always being there and not giving up on me!

My parents and the kids planned a little surprise birthday dinner and cake for me when we got back.
Here are the beautiful flowers my kiddos gave me and a beautiful gift from one of my very dear and closest friend from Texas.

Thank you to all my family and friends who took a moment to send me a Happy Birthday greeting, gift or their presence!  I love you all and am so very very blessed!!! I thank God for placing you each in my life!

This last week I read a few inspiring blogs:

So true..."That’s the thing about gifts, we don’t really get to choose them. They choose us. And sometimes we wrestle with the choosing." - See more at: http://www.graceuncommon.com/embracing-the-gift-you-were-given/

This is a sweet friend, who inspires me in so many ways, a great sister in Christ and I so resonated with what she shared..."Stepping out on a limb–arms held out to my side trying to stay balanced–my heart racing with determination. I am going to trust." - See more at: http://www.treasuring-christ.org/false-confidence/

Being that my hubby is a train engineer, this got my attention and yes so true..."The right perspective can change everything." - See more at: http://millionprayingwomen.com/i-need-perspective/

I have been called weird or different for all my life, and yes I often do feel weird, but I love it, again being normal is overrated!! So this is a book I may have to read as the title explains me perfectly~Why your weirdness is wonderful~   http://motheringfromscratch.com/2014/03/24/feel-like-a-failure-hope/

This week God has been speaking to me about belief and trust. There has been times in my life where I have doubts, but yet always still that little bit inside of me that has that little bit of faith, and you know it is all you need, God will do the rest!
All you need is a tiny bit of faith. Your faith will grow as that tiny seed grows and your life will be changed by faith!
Matthew 17:20 Jesus said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

That’s the thing about gifts, we don’t really get to choose them. They choose us. And sometimes we wrestle with the choosing. - See more at: http://www.graceuncommon.com/embracing-the-gift-you-were-given/#sthash.5UUpLqAB.dpuf

Super Easy DIY Laundry Soap and Dishwasher Soap

It took me 10 minutes to make the following:

Easy Laundry Soap:
1 bar of Fels-Naptha or Ivory Soap (I use Ivory Soap)
2 cup Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
2 cup Borax

I grate my soap in a small pail and then put in container I be using (I am recycle using coffee containers is perfect), then add the washing soda and borax and mix all together.

When using add 1/8 cup to 1/4 cup depending on how soiled clothes are to washing machine.

Optional:  Too a batch add 1 tsp of essential oils and mix in, or add a 1-2 drops into 1/4 cup as you add to washing machine. Or if you are using the household thieves cleaner a capful. http://www.youngliving.com/en_US/products/home/natural-cleaning

Dishwasher Detergent:
2 cups washing soda
2 cups borax
25 drops of grapefruit essential oil, I used Young Living lemon EO.

I put on rubber gloves and mix all together. Again I used a coffee container to store in.

When using add 2 tbsp per wash, also add 1 tsp vinegar if you like spot free on your glass/silverware.

Here is a pic, nothing fancy, maybe someday I will find some cute inexpensive containers to use. It is just pennies per use, so saving $$ and I know what is in my detergent!!

Friday Encourgement!

When I think about my journey and how I came to know Jesus, I am so very thankful that God did not give up on me. I did not grow up having a relationship with Jesus. Didn't do much praying when I was a child or attend church, except during the time when the public school system allowed us to go take a short Wednesday morning class (that's not allowed anymore). (Yes, I was baptized as a baby, Catholic, however that is another story.) I remember both my grandma's praying and attending church. My one grandma always kept her Bible out on the kitchen table and would read it. I realize now those were seeds being planted to bring me to faith in Christ. As I got a little older, teenage years I would journal and write prayers, knowing there was a God. I was far from a perfect teenager, a little rebellious I would say, but God was always watching over me and protecting me! It took going through a divorce and heartache to bring me to my knees to start having a real relationship with Jesus. When I see God working now in situations and little details, I am just in awe of how great His love is for us! He never gives up, keeps on pursuing! I love that and I love sharing it! I had three situation this week that God used to show me His timing is always perfect and to keep trusting that He is working out all the details!
You don't have to be perfect and you don't have to have it all together to accept Jesus, because God loves you as you are. Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

God has gifted me of being an encourager, part of the reason I started a moms group. I love sharing weekly how Gods speaks to me through the Word, books or blogs I read. Here are some from this week:
He is your Father. He loves you. And He would do anything for you. http://www.incourage.me/2014/03/how-god-feels-about-you.html

Prayer really does change things.

Choosing love is always a success in God’s eyes–no matter the outcome or response. http://holleygerth.com/a-no-fail-plan-for-whatever-you-face-today/

The question I have to ask myself often, is for what purpose did God rescue and remake me? http://jenthorn.com/blog/2014/3/13/krv3muabs50v149vwxlq0s7dia7unb

Spring Cleaning Our Souls and Homes!

Spring to me means, new birth/beginnings, growth.... I just love spring, especially when I lived in Minnesota and it was a long cold winter. I still love it though, even though winters here are nothing comparable to Minnesota!! What does spring mean to you?

Here are some great posts to that might help with spring cleaning our souls, helping us grow, or to re-prioritize.
In a spiritual sense, the same needs to be done to our souls. Our souls need spring cleaning... http://joyfilleddays.com/spring-cleaning-the-soul/

Maybe all of my mundane tasks could be opportunities to commune with the Living God. Sacred moments filling my day and putting those everyday tasks into true perspective... http://www.thebettermom.com/2014/03/08/can-chores-become-sacred-acts/

How can we evaluate our lives, making sure that we are being a good steward of the gifts and callings we have been given? http://momlifetoday.com/2014/03/the-gift-of-motherhood/

So what do I do and what do you do when you just simply LACK in an area? http://courtneydefeo.com/i-am-what-i-am/

And don't forget after spring cleaning our souls, spring clean your homes!

Here are a few recipes, I have many more that I have collected. We use Young Living essential oils in our home, since the one's that I trust after personal research and using Young Living! I have been using essential oils for some time and I love them!

    Window Cleaner:

    • water

    Room Freshener:
    In a spray bottle mix:
    • Distilled Water
    • 5-15 drops essential oil
    • mix all together (great for pet too, depending on essential oils, recommend purification or lavender)
