Hope and Merry Christmas!!

This year I pray each of us to know the love, hope, and peace that comes from knowing Jesus Christ!

Romans: 15:13
May the God of HOPE fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Do you see it, Jesus is the One and only True Light! He is our salvation! Our HOPE came wrapped in swaddling clothes and placed in a manager on Christmas day!

Merry Christmas from our home to yours!!!
xoxo

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I hope all my friends and family had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We never know how ours is going to go, due to the hubs job, so we are last minute planners. So this year we enjoyed a wonderful meal with some friends, it was a blessing to be a part of their family Thanksgiving meal this year! Lots of fun, good food, laughter, and blessed friendships!

Sad to put away the Thanksgiving tree, as I love what Thanksgiving it all about. We can keep that spirit of thanksgiving each and everyday by being thankful for the blessings we are are given from above, and sometimes it is the little things that count the most! Now I am even more excited to decorate our Christmas tree, put up the manager, start our Christmas devotions, and count-down! The Christmas shopping is done, finished that earlier in the week, this lady does not do Black Friday, that thought of it causes a bit of anxiety. I just love Amazon, order and deliver to your door, what is better than that!? Today the kiddo's are getting all dressed up in their Christmas outfits my parents got them for Christmas pictures.

We enjoyed a Thanksgiving break from school, just opting to do some spelling and writing with a Thanksgiving theme. Aidan had his Thanksgiving manners meals at preschool on Monday. We will enjoy the last couple days of this week, as next week picks up with back to school and lots of activities on our calendar to attend.

Here are a few pics of our Thanksgiving week:
Ready for his manners meal!

The Song devotional review and give-away!

When I saw this book come up for review, I was excited to read it. I enjoy reading devotions and hey the author is from Kentucky, plus I am looking forward to watching the move The Song, which came out recently! Check out the movie trailer here So you want to hear my thoughts on it.... Due to time of the review being due, I went through and read it and did some of the exercises. The daily devotions are on average three pages. For each day, the author shares about a situation (and most of us, or at least those I know can relate to these situations, they are situations that happen in about every marriage), apply a verse in the Book of Solomon from the Bible, along with another Bible verse to look up and study further if you want to take this study deeper, and you will than apply what you read and discuss. I so appreciated the guys humor throughout it, so you can read this together with your spouse and laugh too! This devotion will help you to learn more about each other,  reminisce about the past, and understanding God's Word when it comes to your marriage, love, and intimacy.

Some examples of the exercises:
~Take a few minutes to affirm and value what makes you different.
~Find ways to go somewhere together out of the normal routine.
~Talk and pray about your conflict styles as a couple.
~Revisit the last quarrel you had. (won't that be fun!)
~Talk about the time when you first met and fell in love.

Many probably don't realize this but the Song of Solomon is very romantic! So what better place to get marriage or love advice than to read the Bible! All marriages can benefit from a devotion like this, no matter if your marriage is great or going through a tough time, or you have been married for a short time or years! I think if we are all honest we can all say we have had some not so great times, but those are the times that will change you and your marriage for the better!  I would definitely recommend this devotional to all those I know who are married!

Song of Solomon 1: 2-3 Let him kiss me the kisses of his mouth - for your love is more delightful than wine. Pleasing is the fragrance of your perfumes; your name is like perfume poured out. No wonder the young women love you!

I am able to give-away one free book, so if you would like to have your very own to read. Please comment, prior to December 1, 2014!

Susie's Hope Review and Give Away!

I encourage all my animal loving friends to watch this movie and read about Susie's Hope. This is also a great movie for those that love to watch true stories about faith and hope! This is a story about Donna, who after dealing with the attack from a pit bull and  loss of her baby, she starts to question God why me, but through that process she discovers while walking through a park a puppy that had been severaly abused. From there she discovers a reason to find hope again through saving this puppy, changing laws and starting a nonprofit organzation to help end animal abuse.

If you like an opportunity to have your very own DVD of this movie, please comment and let me know by December 14, 2014 and one person will receive one free.

About the movie: Run time 105 minutes
Based on the true story that successfully passed Susie’s Law in North Carolina, which seeks stricter punishment for animal abusers, Susie’s Hope brings to life the inspirational relationship between pit bull attack survivor Donna Lawrence and Susie, a pit bull-mix puppy found beaten, burned and left for dead. Recognizing reflect and abuse were to blame for the tragic attack that nearly claimed her life 10 months earlier, Donna resumes the battered animal and accepts her as family. Together, they learn to heal, love and forgive as they lead a historic effort to seek justice and protection, not only for Susie, but all animals. Starring Emmanuelle Vaguer (40 Days and 40 Nights), Burgess Jenkins (Remember The Titans) and Andrea Powell (Ender’s Game, The Twighlight: Breaking Dawn Saga: Part 2), Susie’s Hope is an incredible story of love, loss and redemption.

Watch and share the Susie’s Hope trailer here!

About Susie:
Susie was found nearly dead in Greenfield Park in Greensboro, North Carolina on August 20, 2009. Just a puppy, Susie had licked the face of her owner’s newborn baby. Her owner became violent—she was beaten so severely her jaw was broken. That wasn’t enough, though. She was then set on fire and left for dead. Incredibly and against all odds Susie survived. Donna Lawrence adopted her two months later. Susie is now a trained therapy dog and event won the American Humane Association’s American Hero Dog this year!

Living Free!

I recently met with my mentor who is someone I also consider a friend, but this gal is extra special, she is downright honest, she tell you like it is, she has a heart for Jesus. I also adore her family! I am thankful for her, we talked about some hard stuff and she helped to reveal some stuff I have been holding onto, some stuff that holds me back in my faith, but it is stuff and we don’t need to let that stuff, or you might want to call it junk, take a hold of us. We have someone that will, and He can mold it, use it, and bring good out of it! He can also heal and fill us with complete JOY, which in this world can be sometimes a little hard to feel at times. I am a happy person, love my life, am thankful, and I am blessed in many ways, but I do have some areas where my heart just aches for certain things and people, and I have been holding onto it. Instead of trusting the One who takes care of those things. After our talk, I felt lighter, able to breathe easier! Later I asked God to reveal anything that is taking up residence in my heart that doesn’t need to be there and give me His perspective.

I encourage everyone to find that one person or persons in your life that you can sit with, share, be honest, real honest, and use each others stories to encourage one another. Plus it is part of our mission in our MOM Group that I am a part of, but then I realized I haven’t had a personal mentor in years. So I am thankful that God has placed this woman in my life and I am thankful for the answer to the prayer I have been praying to bring me someone like her. We are similar in some ways and totally opposites in other ways, but we both have a love for Jesus and sharing His truth! She isn’t afraid to be different, she is who God made her to be!

I encourage you, go out and find yourself a mentor/friend! Ask God to reveal any stuff you are holding onto and cleanse it out. It is freeing, and that is how we are to live, free in Christ!
Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Lord, I pray for the mind of Christ, for Your perspective in all situations, to hear godly wisdom! Take every thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5) and cleanse me of what isn’t in obedience. I desire nothing but to be devoted to You wholly. I will not be shaken by the surrounding chaos, but have the PEACE that comes from God and HIS promises! Amen!

Isaiah 26:3-4 The steadfast of mind. You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord, we have an everlasting rock!
