Friday Snow Week!

Jesus+Nothing=Everything!! This is my focus~JESUS, not perfection, not duty, not worrying, not pleasing others!

Well it has been an adventurous week here in Kentucky, we received around 12" of snow in one week, majority was one day (this is rare). I feel like I am in my home-state of Minnesota! Thankful to have grown up in snow like this, so it doesn't cause me to worry. Thankful we have 4x4, the hubby needed it for work and we were able to help others. The schools were closed here all week, but not Raising Arrows, it is the best time to do school, when you are stuck mostly indoors! There was snow fun, movies, games, hot chocolate, and chili of course! We finished week 25 in our school year, this week included learning about poetry and writing poetry, friction and gravity, focusing on living in late 1800s, which we all have enjoyed learning about, oh how to live the simple life, but yet it was hard work! Abigail has been practicing her piano lessons, which she is enjoying and I am learning along with her too.We continue to focus on God's LOVE this month! Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind." This is the first and greatest commandment. The second most important is similar: "Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself. All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets stem from these two laws and are fulfilled if you obey them. Keep only these and you will find that you are obeying all the others.”

Encouraging reads:

When we over-commit, eventually, we’ll get “fat” on too much – even if it’s good stuff.  Anything that withdraws from our account of time, whether it be good or bad, can make us feel tired and overwhelmed.

He who faced crucifixion, a brutal killing from his enemies, has never asked us to live in faith in a way that he has not already faced.–And yet he encouraged us to “Take courage!”  As He took courage and went to the cross amidst the greatest evil.

Lent is a return, to the heart of all that matters most, the single Matter of Christ apart from whom nothing matters at all.

If I held out my hands, one full of fear and the other full of love, which offer would you choose?

This is a must read, preserve your right as a parent

Love without a Cross can’t stand — because it’s only about feel-good and not about being made new.

There is never, ever a bad homeschool day. There are no hard homeschool days. It’s all rainbows and unicorns.

Why we homeschool, agree with every one of these...

Need this! Homeschool focus!
