Sunday Joy~My Redeemer

"My Redeemer Lives" (Hillsong)

I know he rescued my soul
His blood has covered my sin
I believe
I believe

My shame He's taken away
My pain is healed in his name
I believe
I believe

I'll raise a banner
'Cause my Lord has conquered the grave

My Redeemer Lives
My Redeemer Lives
My Redeemer Lives
My Redeemer Lives

I know He's rescued my soul
His blood has covered my sin
I believe
I believe

My shame He's taken away
My pain is healed in His Name
I believe
I believe

I'll raisen a banner
'Cause My Lord has conquered the grave

You Lift my burdens
I'll rise with You
I'm dancing on this mountain top to see your kingdom come

Friday~Weekly Rewind and Blessings!

It has been a hot, hot week here, thankful for the cool down coming today. Last Sunday was a hot one out on the golf course! But Abigail had a great lesson, she had some great hits and form. Also Aidan even got to try one out, he still has a ways to go, but he loved it! This week was full of blessings and also tiresome, that is what VBS does to you, but blessed to be a part of it and so worth it, to see  the excited faces and also hearing of children making decision to follow Christ! All the kids had a blast and learned some great Biblical lessons in a fun environment! Took some great pics of the kids on their dress-up days, unfortunately Aidan wasn't feeling well the last day. However, after we dropped of Abigail, he came home and pooped and was all better. I tell you, if that was all you needed to do in life to be better, haha!! It was a long week and there were some hot days so I also think that may have taken it's toll, so instead of serving at church that day we missed out, I served at home, spending time with Aidan and cleaning. I am learning, sometimes it really is those everyday ordinary moments that we serve God in can make the most impact.

Now that VBS is done, and Aidan has one Tball game left and Abigail two golf classes left, I can then turn my focus to finalizing our homeschool planning for the upcoming school year and finish getting our room ready! I received what I call the homeschool bible in the mail this week and I always enjoy going through it, plus they have great deals!!!

In a few weeks my mentor friend and her mentor friend and I are going to offer an informational meeting on what mentoring looks like and in hopes to start a mentoring program. I have wrote about my experience before . I encourage everyone to be a mentor to someone and be a mentee. It is one of the best investments of time I have made. My mentor has helped me walk through some hard things and helped me become more confident of who I am in Christ and that is so freeing!! I always leave talking with her feeling better, because she is a great encourager, but also will tell me how it is, love her honesty! I can't wait to see what happens with this!! For more information check out this link:
What is the purpose of Christian mentoring? "It is a Spiritual growth through friendship."
Eccl. 4:9 "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work."

This week in addition to received the Rainbow Resources catalog in the mail I received a book for a launch I am a part of. She is one of my favorite bloggers and has some other great books, so I am excited, plus the book being about "Small-Moment Living in a Fast-Moving World"isn't that the truth, for me personal I think this book will be like a breath of fresh air, because some days it just moves too fast and I want to enjoy every moment of it!

Encouraging reads this week:

I want to encourage that it’s okay not to be okay. In fact, that’s a very good place to be, when you are willing to admit it. And when you are willing to admit you need help, you can receive it.

When we dress up our pretty front porches and don’t let anyone see our dirty living rooms, our relationships stay at a superficial level. It’s impossible to have the kind of deep, authentic relationships our hearts desire if we aren’t willing to be vulnerable with other people.

God does not want us to say “yes” when we mean “no” because it means we’re not living in the truth. In other words, we’re out of alignment with His character and Kingdom.

Because once time is spent you cannot get it back.  It is a gift from God meant to bless you, not overwhelm you. Eliminate what is unnecessary and ask God to give you wisdom on how to order your days. He will guide your steps, bring peace,  and help restore the balance that is needed in your life.

Journey in sharing~what a beautiful mess!

This journey in writing has been good for me, chance to share what is on my heart, and I don't share everything, there is just too much that I ponder on and don't know yet how to get out in words on paper/type. I do have a personal journey for where that stuff happens, most that stuff would probably bore you anyhow! It also allows me to document our journey through everyday living and what we are doing, schooling, playtime, learning, growing in faith, and share pictures to my family and friends that are not close. I hope someday maybe the children will enjoy it too. I hope it comes across as encouragement, and not something that makes you feel any less, because you are enough, I am enough!

I realize I make mistakes, I am not perfect, many times I write quickly in between sips of coffee and being a mom. I do love when people comment and share in encouragement or lovely correct. Sometimes I will write something and then later, maybe years see it differently, because I reserve the right to be wrong! But what I do know for sure, I am first and foremost a princess of the King, a Jesus girl, who desires nothing but all I know to know this truth for themselves! I am a wife, mom and homeschool one at that, so priorities need to be made and my blog is not my first priority. My faith comes first and through that, I live! I live for truth, Biblical truth, for love and grace, and for freedom, all which comes from being obedient to God. His Word, it tells a story, a beautiful one at that and the best one, it is life saving! When you know this truth, it will set you free to live, and God will change you to be who He made you to be, wonderful, beautiful and glorious. You don't need to be a rocket scientist or have the best clothes, a lot of money, or tons of things to be loved, you just need to know His love, it comes from a pure heart, a heart full of goodness, nothing evil, nothing malicious or prideful. When you have God's love and understand it will flow out from you to others. His blessings are all around us, so look for them and speak to Him, be thankful!

Now that I have said that, I don't always get it right and I am still on the journey of learning, I still mess up and when I do beauty will arise from that, it might be painful at first, but God has overcome, all thanks to the blood of Jesus, a true example of love, grace, and obedience!

Friday-weekly rewind and Happy Father's Day!

This week we had one of my husband's friend come stay with us for a night. We are blessed by an extra bedroom in our house so that we can enjoy having friends and family come stay with us. It has been great for both of us to get to spend time with friends over the last couple weeks. Friendship is so important! Sometimes I don't always put much importance on it and I need to! Life gets busy, my kids rule my schedule many days, but we still need those heart sisters in our life! Reason why I read Heart Sisters. Currently, rereading this book with an online group, and I shared as a review previously.

I like book studies with a group, opportunity to share with others, what we are getting out of it and encouraging one another. Many times I get more out of it when discussing a book with others, as they share there perspective. I have discovered something, before we can be a good friend we also need to take care of ourselves. This is what spoke to me this week from Natalie Chambers Snapp's book that I thought I share here: BUSY=Being Under Satan's Yoke;   Self-care is critical if we are going to do anything God has called us to do. Boundaries are not only healthy, they're holy! So, are there any areas of your life that need boundaries? How can you establish them?
I sometimes struggle with boundaries, because I want to be all things to those around me, but that is not going to serve anyone if I am feeling overwhelmed and anxious. Also keeps me from deep friendships. So last week and this week while we had company instead of planning out what we would be doing and making some big meal, I just got frozen pizza and we just hung out, and it was nice and relaxing!

This week it has been hot here, pool worthy hot! I am not much of a sun or pool person, but daddy and the kiddos played in the pool while I read a book, it was nice, we all had a good time. I took the kids to the Animal Tales show at our library, the kids loved seeing different kinds of reptiles, me not so much, but it was nice to be out of the heat. We enjoyed a family mini golf outing! Abigail had golf class again on Sunday night and she hit one of the best hits, so proud of her. I only wish I could play golf like her, but my patience with golf works against me. I enjoy watching her and you know that is what kids want from us sometimes, to just watch them and be there. I often hear, mommy did you see that, mommy watch me... Love seeing the excitement on their faces!! My kids bring me much joy and I am thankful for God making me a mommy two my precious children. Though they sometimes drive me crazy and days can be long, I love being a mommy! It is a great calling!!

This weekend is Father's Day, and how blessed I am and also proud to be a wife to a hard working hunk of a man! Oh how I love him so and he truly is an awesome father to our kids!!! My daddy is also a very special man in my life, best daddy in the world to me and will always be!! I just wish we didn't live miles and miles away, so that we could all celebrate the special day together. So if your dad is near, be sure to hug him and tell him how thankful you are to have him.

Encouraging reads:

Wow, this author sounds a lot like me when I found out we we were moving to Kentucky! “Peace and contentment come when we say yes to now and no to fretting about the future; when we seek His light, right where we are, and gladly point others in His direction.”

We all have hard days. Challenging days. Days that stretch us, sometimes beyond what we can bear. Sometimes these days appear as a series of little irritating events that build up to one terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Other days we wake up to find one huge unexpected event that lands like a bomb in our life.

“It’s Me, and it’s you.” It’s His work, and mine.

Somehow in this mixed up media world of things to do and places to go and dreams to follow the beauty of simply being a mother is completely lost. Being a mom is enough.

We all carry extra baggage with us don’t we?  There are certain journeys that would become disastrous if we carried all of it. Our day-to-day journeys would become much easier, much more like the life God intends for us if we pared down to our most unencumbered selves.

And we, together, are just walking this life out together, imperfectly, humanly, as we lean into faith.
