Friday Rewind~Excitement and Encouragement!!

It's been a busy week, but that is what happens at this time of year, lots of new things starting up and excitement!! We finished week two of school!! I enjoy reading other homeschool families journeys, so here is what we are up to...The start of the year Abigail has been learning about people from all over the world, countries, different customs, religions, languages, and living. We always spend the first thirty minutes reading, discussing and copying scripture. This is sometimes more for my benefit too, starting in the Word and with prayer helps to keep our focus where it needs to be. For science we are learning about animals, different groups, where there from, how they live and what makes them different from each other. She is going through handwriting quickly, I may need to move her past a section of this, and start cursive sooner. In math and spelling, we are reviewing what we learned last year. Soon will move onto learning new words and more challenging math problems, addition, subtraction, and division. It amazes me what she is already learning. I remember first grade and we were just learning how to write our names it seems. I am not pushing her and she is going at her pace and enjoys it, that is what learning is all about! We are keeping a chart of the daily weather and temperatures, to compile at the end of the year. We started Latin this week and she loves learning a different language! I am learning right along with her, Salve! She continues to take piano and in a couple weeks back at horse riding lessons, oh we have missed doing that! We are currently reading Charlotte's Web, so love this story! I even wrote about it once.

Thursday night we attended our homeschool co-op kickoff and got a tour of the classrooms and met many more people, there are 176 students attending this semester!! Abigail is excited she will be taking Cooking 101, On stage play, and Craft class! Aidan is also excited, he said he can't wait to play in the gym they have! Abigail had her quarterly eye checkup, her eyes have definitely got stronger and no more patching. Praises! She got glasses a month before she turned 3, which is when we moved to Kentucky! Time goes faster it seems when you are older! Which reminds me to count blessings everyday! Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days!
So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom. - See more at:

Today, is Aidan's first day of preK and this will also be his last year there. I will be sad when that comes to an end. The preschool and teachers there have been a part of our lives for the last 4 years!

Tomorrow is our kickoff for the Titus 2 Discipleship ministry! I am so blessed to be a part of this. I have had a mentor for the last year and God placed it on our hearts that this is such a needed ministry for women. So we put together an informational meeting at our church and tomorrow we celebrate with a kickoff!! It has been amazing to see already the blessings coming out of this, God is just awesome like that! All for HIS glory! What I have learned through this is, God didn’t put us on this earth to do life alone, HE wants us to have communion with one another. Share life with one another/do life together/serve together/encourage one another/teach one another.

Pics of the week:

Encouraging Reads:

I think sometimes we just need someone to tell us it’ll be okay. We need someone to admit they didn’t always fit in either. Someone to say they struggled or had a hard time too. Sometimes we just need someone to tell us it will all be worth it if we stay true to ourselves and never give up. And that some of what once hurt, will someday make us laugh. Because it will.

We are made for so much more, as the song says. We are to be the gatehouse of all that is good true and beautiful. We are to show God’s creativity, His beauty, His intelligence, His hope, His love. Yet, we must have a willing heart to embrace the life He has created us for.

Sabbath rest isn’t selfishness, it’s soul-care, it’s reorienting our souls to fix our gaze back on God because He’s the only place we’ll find wholeness, health, godliness, joy.

“Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” We can trust He will use those times to fill us up then send us out again to serve even more powerfully than before.

I want to tell you to shake it off, girl. If you’re walking in the wisdom of God, and laying your life, and that of your children, down at His feet, you’ve just got to trust that He’ll lead you. And if the things He asks you to do look different than what He requires of all your friends, so be it. His opinion is the only one that matters.

There is also absolutely a latte and delicious treat involved in this step!

If you long to come to Him today, don’t worry about the circumstances. In the words of the hymn writer Joseph Hart, “If you tarry till you’re better, you will never come at all.” Come as you are — come today — and bare your soul. Cry out like David cried out in Psalm 51, honestly and openly before the God who made you and promises to make you new (2 Cor. 5:17), who loves you and stands ready to save.
Come broken and weary.
Come confused and hopeful.
Come repentant and needy.
Come believing in the midst of your doubt.
Then come back day after day. Walk every day in that same grace you first received.
After all, it has never been about saving yourself. It is always and only about His saving grace.
