Raising Arrows Week 9, Weekly Encouragement and Snapshots!

This week we wrapped up week nine of our school year! As usually it has been busy, as a homeschool mom my mind some days feels like it may explode, with all the info that goes out of my brain and comes in, could be why I feel tired at the end of most days, it's a good tired feeling, because I know I am doing what I am called to do. However, I have learned it is so important to take the time to fill my soul and make sure to say yes and no to the right things.

Thankful it has been a beautiful week of weather, it could not be more perfect, sunshine, cool breezes and temps! We took time this week to enjoy some nice evening walks, campfire, and sunsets, all thing that fill my soul! Fall always seems beautiful to me and yet reminds me of changing seasons and how change is beautiful, sometimes you have to go through a hard-time to get there, but oh how beautiful it is and will be! Ecclesiastes 3:1~There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens... This week I was reminded it was about a year ago we were getting ready for our move from Kentucky to Tennessee, I remember it, almost feels like yesterday. So as I sit here and think of all that has transpired in just a short time, I can't help but think of all the wonderful things the Lord has blessed me with in this season, sometimes hard to see at the time. So why I keep the hope in all things, thankful for the little and big things, thankful for the hard times that teach us and draw us nearer, and thankful for what is to come, because I can trust the one true God!

Listen, Love, Repeat ~ Journey

I really think this message is worth sharing, especially during this season of schools starting, holiday season upon us, people going through hard times, this election, and the news. Which by the way I have basically have come to learn I really need to limit the amount I read and watch, it can become overbearing when all it seems to be is about is hate, violence, etc.... I feel we need to try and do what is good, what is right and always go back to that saying...what would Jesus do? Then live like Jesus! Not only is He our redeemer, our savior! He came to earth to serve, love, and teach us by example! Is it easy, no! So let's be brave and get out of our comfort level! It doesn't take much to reach out, smile and say thank you to your mail-person for all they do, leave a $5 gift card to Chick-fil-A with someone you work with, cook a meal for a family going through a hard time or just had a baby, pay for someone's breakfast, surprise someone with a coffee or Sonic happy-hour drink, send a card by snail-mail to encourage one another, just show up and listen to a friend in need, etc...These little things add up and turn into big things!

HOPE, weekly encouragement and snapshots!

HOPE~yes that is what you tell yourself when your going through something, but what exactly does it mean? Hope it sounds like a good word, right!? Well I said that to a dear friend going through a hard time the other day, and then I thought I need to understand that word hope better (and I when I thought that, I meant later, some other time). Well I opened up a book I am reading (Breathing Eden) and there it is HOPE. Romans 5:3-5 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

So I start reading this and pondering on the questions. Then I open up my Bible and look up the word hope, and there is verse upon verse throughout the Bible. Hope is akin to trust and a confident expectation. (Titus 1:2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time) What a reminder how God hears and knows it all and what confirmation He gives. Why we always need to take everything to Him! God continued to put that word HOPE in front of me this week, not just once but several times throughout the week! I am so thankful to have a God that speak to me, loves me and desires a relationship with me!


We read poetry as part of homeschooling and this poem by Emily Dickinson about hope is good too "Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tune without the words and never stops at all." 






 That was a little personal encouragement from me and what God spoke to me this week, been a while since I have wrote about my personal thoughts and shared. Hoping there are others out there maybe need that reminder to keep the HOPE, as I did!! We all have struggles, from time to time, and some seasons are hard, but there is hope!! Week 7 of Raising Arrows, Snapshots and Encouragement!

Wise reminder!


A week after a vacation is hard to get back into the swing of things, but we survived, woot woot!!! Before vacation ended, we snuck in individual dates with the kids and made some fun memories! The hubs finished another project, and started on another, as you will see in the pics below. He never ceases to amaze me!!
The kids finished up their read-a-thon this week, that is a part of our homeschool co-op! Well that was one of the easier challenges for us, because our curriculum is literature based so we get in a ton of reading in as part of school and we pretty much love reading! There goal was to read a minimum of 240 minutes in a two week period! The kids have another week to collect sponsor money, so if you are a reading fan and like to sponsor some great kids in winning some money for prizes and books, contact us! It has been fun to be a part of encouraging reading with a great program from Usborne!
