Weekly encouragement, snapshots, peek into our week and learning from Repitition

In our school-time we use repetition to learn and I am just realizing how much I need it too! I need to soak in truth, repeatedly!
My kids get tired of me repeating things, I admit I do too (especially when it comes to discipline), but repetition can be good, an opportunity to hear again, to let it soak in, to meditate on it. Just be wise, make sure it is truth
Paul from the Bible reminds of this in Philippians 3:1-3 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.
Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation! For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh
(repeat, encouragement, thank you JESUS, rejoice, word-writers)

This week we finished up week 22, whoo-hoo!! Fridays are always a day of celebration here, often times we have donuts or some other special morning treat! AND Friday night is always pizza and movie night, unless there is some special event we need to attend. So important to celebrate the little things in life and I feel completing a week of learning, chores, and life, is reason to celebrate! We need our homes to be a special place. Our homes are not just places to live in, but to do life in and we want our homes to be life giving, to have purpose, but also to have fun and make wonderful memories. If you want to know more about making a life giving home, Sally Clarkson wrote a fantastic book about this in The Life Giving Home, which I read last year and try to revisit often.

Encouraging Reads:
Reading is a solitary pursuit. You grab your book, you kick back on the couch, and the hours roll by. But even though reading is a solitary pursuit, it is not necessarily a selfish one. Reading can actually be an important way to love others. Here are five ways to love others in your reading.
Can we make space for listening and learning and loving, even when we do not agree?
How do I reflect God’s beauty today? This is the question that should be at the forefront of our minds, longing for an answer every hour. It’s what lies beneath all our labels and arguments and definitions — whether you’re a young wife or a grandmother, single or married, eight-years-old or eighty.
Knowing something means nothing if we aren’t letting it change us. We have to start right now. Ask him for help. It will look a bit different for everyone, but try putting aside your own list of things to accomplish today for just a few minutes, and make a spiritual to-do list.
God loves us so and He wants us to bring EVERY burden and concern and worry to Him in prayer
YES!!!! Thank you friend for writing this...You must get along with each other. You must learn to be considerate of one another, cultivating a life in common.” – 1 Corinthians 1:10
