July 14: Weekly rewind, commonplace notes, encouragement, and snapshots!

Commonplace Notes:

  • Someone can be human-with faults, flaws, moods, and mistakes-and still be loved.~Only Love Today
  • Often it takes just one small thing, just one small thing that proves not to be small at all.~Chasing Slow
  • God hasn't invited us into a disorderly, unkempt life but into something holy and beautiful-as beautiful as the inside as the outside.~1 Thessalonians 4:7
  • If I work in such a way that I don't have enough energy to give to my marriage, I need to take down some chairs. If I say yes to many work things that my kids only get to see tired mommy I need to take down some chairs.~Present Over Perfect
  • Walk in endurance...If God is for me, who can be against me~Romasn 8:31
  • Nothing, and I mean nothing, is more important than Jesus Christ and the gospel and this gospel is meant to be remembered and celebrated every day.~Comforts From The Cross
  • HOPE: Hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because HE has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with HIS love.~Romans 5:5
  • God's promises will never fail!
Encouraging Reads:
We are sacrificing our families at the altar of busy. We are consumed by the sake of “doing”. Doing that is mostly nothing more than making us frazzled and stressed. We are in constant FOMO mode (Fear of Missing Out) We don’t want to deny our children any activity or playdate. We can do it all! They need to be busy! What if they don’t have anything to do! Oh the horror.
It’s the nature of this journey that we are on:  believers, saved by grace, walking by grace, covered by grace.  Sometimes we hurt. Sometimes we hurt each other.  It’s in these situations that we have to decide what we are going to believe about God, about ourselves and about others.  I am finding that it’s usually pretty simple: dying to self isn’t easy or natural and we cannot force another person to make that choice.  We can only make it for ourselves and encourage others to make it, mostly by example.
Homeschooling is an incredible adventure. It won’t always be easy. It won’t always be fun. But, it will be rewarding, memorable, and the most amazing blessing you will receive. Our hearts and prayers extend to all families considering homeschooling. May the Lord lead your homes, remove any fears you have, and show you His path for your family.
How do you give yourself rest in the midst of a crazy stressful moment?
Here are a few observations about memorizing scripture:
Warning, possible trigger article, but we all need to be aware of this and teaching our children

Weekly Snapshots (small peek into our lives):

Sunday afternoon fun! Swim goggles, sun, fun, pool time!
The kids finally got a bigger pool, even though it was short lived. It took a lot of time to get chemicals right and then when we did, the salt pump stopped working. Thankfully able to send it back for a refund and we were able to sell the pool to another lucky person, so we didn't loose out on much, but the time in the pool was fun!
One of the couple family pool fun days, before the pool left. Next year membership!
Sweet sleeping babies, yep always a slumber party in my bed when the hubs is working.
Thankful to be reviewing this new book, lots of deep pondering and reading going on with this book. Anything by Tozer is a must read, in my opinion! More to come soon...
Abigail and I are excited to learn some different styles of hand-lettering!
Thankful for library book sales, got a haul for $22, mostly for the kids, but there is a couple in there for me.
