July 7: Weekly rewind, commonplace notes, encouragement, and snapshots!

Commonplace Notes:
  • As believers in Christ, we are called to live a life that is distinctly different from the world around us.The more we read and contemplate God’s Word and intentionally focus our minds on the things of God, we will progressively look more and more like Christ and less and less like who we were. Our perspective will change. Our priorities will change. Our relationships will change. The way we treat others will change. Father, I desperately want to bring You glory by putting on the heart and mind of Christ.- Krista Williams
  • “We do not merely want to see beauty, though, God knows, even that is bounty enough. We want something else which can hardly be put into words—to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become part of it.”-C.S. Lewis
  • You don't have to be perfect and you don't have to have it all together to accept Jesus, because God loves you as you are. Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
  • Love is not a game of take. Love is only a game of give.~Chasing Slow by Erin Loechner
  • Following Jesus wherever HE leads means walking down frightening paths. It means risk-of reputation, of meeting society's neatly packaged goals of your own concept of victory. It means thinking beyond your personal kingdom to the kingdom of God.~Woman Who Move Mountains
  • All children must read widely, and know what they have read, for the nourishment of their complex nature....Every lovely tale, illuminating poem, instructive history, every unfolding of travel and revelation of science exists for children.~Charlotte mason Volume 6 A Philosophy of Education

And this is when I realize that my heart has wandered to a place where Jesus isn’t enough. Where his providence is not appreciated and his goodness is doubted. http://jenthorn.com/blog/2017/6/29/f1gzs92eu2o0eodp77tey32xmb33zk
